Several faculty members in the department were appointed to new positions in Fall, 2016. Dr. Chi-Shiou Lin was appointed as the new Department Chiar of Library and Information Science. Dr. Kuang-hua Chen was appointed as the University Librarian, and Dr. Muh-Chyun Tang was appointed as the Associate University Librarian. Dr. Weijane Lin was appointed as the Director of E-Learning Division at the University Computer and Information Networking Center.
