High-school graduates who are neither overseas Chinese nor citizens of the Republic of China (Taiwan) may apply for admission to the undergraduate program. Librarians who do not have the citizenship of the Republic of China and have a bachelor’s degree in library and information science may apply for admission to the graduate program.

Applicants should fulfill the requirements of the Regulations Governing Foreign Student Admission of National Taiwan University. Individual interview is required but the written examination is optional. For further admissions information, please refer to:

Here are the options to study at NTU:

Degree Student

Students who possess a nationality other than Taiwan and are going to pursue a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral degree at NTU.

Dual Degree Students

Students can obtain dual degrees in Dual Bachelor’s/Master’s/Doctoral Degree programs. Students who successfully complete all the program requirements will gain the degrees both from the home university and from NTU.

Exchange Students

National Taiwan University has a growing number of international exchange partners around the globe. Each year, we welcome many international students who embark as exchange students on our academic programs, benefiting from NTU’s internationally regarded quality, unique educational environment and friendly community.

Visiting Students

NTU Visiting Student Program is a fee-paying program in which students register as non-degree-seeking but full-time students at NTU.

Living Expenses

There are several cafeterias on campus (see interactive NTU campus map) with reasonable price ranging from NT $50 to 100 per meal. There are also many restaurants and cafes within walking distance from campus in Gongguan business district.

The monthly rent for a studio near campus is about NT $15,000 (price may vary; see RentalTW or other apartment rental sites).

Total monthly budget is around NT $35,000 (food and accommodation plus utilities).
