Along with a series of NTU Azalea Festival events, NTU LIS Alumni Association held an alumni reunion on March 14th, 2015. This was the first time NTU LIS Alumni Association organized an alumni reunion during the NTU Azalea Festival when the university holds large Department and Graduate School Fair. The department invited alumni of ten cohorts to this reunion—classes of 1965, 1966, 1975, 1976, 1985, 1986, 1995, 1996, 2005, and 2006. Most participants were from the first (class of 1965), second (class of 1966), and 31st classes (class of 1995).

The alumni reunion started with welcome and state-of-the-department talks addressed by the department director Professor Shanju Lin Chang and the chair of alumni association Professor Emeritus Ming-der Wu, and followed by a reception. Although most alumni came from Taipei, several alumni came from other parts of Taiwan and abroad. Many of our alumni have had distinguished achievements and fulfill their goals with promising careers either in Taiwan or in the United States. Some have already retired; others are still active in the field. Many have been directors/managers in various types of libraries, museums, or in IT-related industries; some have been faculty members of LIS or related fields. This reunion offered a great opportunity for alumni from classes spanning 50 years to come back “home,” and reconsolidate the lovely and warm community of NTU LIS!
